Good Mourning Counseling Center welcomes Lauren Sinkar, LCSW as she joins the practice. Lauren holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas. Lauren has worked with individuals and families in crisis since 2010 and strives to help facilitate healing, closure, and growth with those who have experienced trauma and loss. Lauren specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults who have been impacted by physical, sexual and emotional abuse and domestic violence.

 

Lauren is recognized by the State of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and currently practices play and sand tray therapy, and also utilizes creative arts to help engage and empower clients in processing their experiences. Lauren is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), with a specialty in Attachment-Focused EMDR. She has worked at Hope Alliance, as a counselor to child, adolescent, and adult survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Lauren has also worked at Communities In Schools for AISD, where she provided clinical and crisis intervention services to middle school students. Her work in a school setting has allowed her to firmly connect with the complex (and sometimes overwhelming) stress and trauma that students can experience on a daily basis. Lauren has provided counseling to individuals, families, and groups.
